JOIN THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT:

#MakeFebruaryGirlsHumanRightsMonth

In February 2025, we launched a campaign to designate February as “Girls Human Rights Month.” This initiative aims to raise awareness and advocate for the rights of girls worldwide, addressing critical issues such as gender-based violence, and gender inequality. By dedicating an entire month to these concerns, GHRH seeks to inspire collective action and foster a global movement committed to empowering girls and ensuring their rights are recognised and upheld.

A key highlight of this campaign is our hugely successful Girls Human Rights Festival, featuring summits, bootcamps, symposiums, workshops, panels, and networking opportunities, focusing on activism, leadership, legal advocacy, and social change. The festival brings together activists, leaders, and advocates from across the globe to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration, celebrating the ongoing work toward gender equality and girls’ empowerment.

The month culminates with the Girls Human Rights Awards Ceremony, honouring outstanding individuals, organisations, and youth leaders advancing the rights of girls around the world. These awards amplify those creating lasting change in law, policy, education, and community action.

We have also launched the Girls Human Rights Conference for Practitioners, bringing together barristers, solicitors, academics, and justice sector leaders to examine legal strategies for ending harmful practices such as child marriage, FGM, trafficking, and gender-based violence.

Throughout February, we want as many individuals, schools, universities, workplaces as possible to join our movement. We want you to highlight key issues, share stories, and support young advocates who are leading change in legal advocacy, education, policy development, community empowerment, and digital activism.

By establishing February as Girls’ Human Rights Month, GHRH intends to create a dedicated time for reflection, education, and action, encouraging individuals and organizations worldwide to participate in events, campaigns, and initiatives that promote and protect the rights of girls. This concerted effort seeks to amplify the voices of girls, highlight their unique challenges, and mobilize resources and support to address systemic issues affecting their well-being and development.
