  • Appointed King’s Counsel in March 2022, Sultana is a highly experienced human rights, international law and criminal justice barrister, advising States, NGOs and individuals. She also advises large multi-national corporations on Diversity & Equality. She is Chair of the Bar Standard Board’s Taskforce on Religious & Belief. Sultana's unique expertise in high profile counter terrorism & national security cases spans across the Criminal Courts, Coronial Courts, Administrative and Family Divisions of the High Court and the Appellate Courts. She is part of the Organisation of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Roster of Criminal Justice Sector Experts dealing with Counter-Terrorism. She advises on international human rights, international criminal law and humanitarian law issues. She is currently on the Advisory Board, Influencing Corridors of Power (ICOP), School of Oriental & African Studies, University of London; Member of Legal Expert Advisory Panel for Fair Trials International (LEAP); Special Advisor on Human Rights for the Oxford Initiative for Global Ethics and Human Rights; and on the Advisory Council for JUSTICE. Sultana is an award-winning barrister, winning Barrister of the Year 2022 at the Inspirational Women in Law Awards; appearing in the HERoes Top 100 Women Future Leaders, 2021; Winner of the Professions Category, Asian Women of Achievement, 2021; Finalist in BSN Lawyer of the Year (Chambers), UK Legal Diversity Awards; and Finalist, in Outstanding Woman in Professional category sponsored by Baker McKenzie, Precious Awards 2021. She is also the Founder & Director of Modest Fashion Festival which attracted a global audience of 1.56 billion.

  • Partner Ambassador for Inclusion at Irwin Mitchel LLP
    Alison is Partner Ambassador for Inclusion and former London Managing Partner for Irwin Mitchell. After opening the London office in 1995 she established and until very recently led the medical negligence team in London.


    Championing diversity, inclusion and social mobility within the legal profession has been central to her work. In 2008 Alison helped set up the  Diversity & Inclusion Board and led the  Gender Equality Group for many years. Today, Irwin Mitchell is the only top 50 UK law firm where over 50% of its partners are women. 
    Recognitions include winning the 2024 Legal 500 ESG Lifetime Achievement Award for Women in Law.

  • Safiyah is 13 years old and the Co-Founder of GHRH. Safiyah has always been driven by the desire to become a human rights lawyer. She came up with the idea of creating a Hub where girls could learn more about their rights and how to claim them. She loves representing and advocating on behalf of her peers. She has represented her year group on the School Council for two years. She has been a Form Captain and was voted vice House Captain this year. She is a Digital Ambassador at her school and has recently taken on the role of Inclusivity Ambassador. She loves debating and is a Lamda scholar.

  • Payzee Mahmod is a British-Kurdish campaigner and survivor advocate whose work focuses on ending harmful practices such as child marriage, honour-based abuse, and FGM. Following the honour killing of her sister Banaz, Payzee has become a powerful voice for legislative and societal change. As an ex campaigner at IKWRO - Women’s Rights Organisation, she played a central role in securing the legal ban on child marriage in England and Wales through the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Minimum Age) Act 2022. Payzee uses digital advocacy to drive systemic change, merging lived experience, grassroots mobilisation, and policy influence. Her TED Talk, “A Survivor’s Plea to End Child Marriage,” has reached millions globally. She regularly collaborates with NGOs, lawmakers, and international bodies, and is passionate about equipping young people with tools to advocate effectively for human rights.

  • Laura Coryton MBE is a feminist campaigner, Obama leader, author and founder of the social enterprise Sex Ed Matters. She spearheaded the first online tampon tax petition which successfully lobbied the UK government into establishing the 'Tampon Tax Fund', through which almost £100m was donated to female-focused organisations, ended the tax in 2021 and now supports sister petitions around the world. She has since founded a social enterprise dedicated to making quality, confidence-building sex education accessible to everyone, to tackle rising rates of violence against women and girls.

  • Annabelle Woghiren is a Pro Bono & Social Impact Coordinator at Clyde & Co, a leading global law firm committed to responsible business. She supports the firm’s global strategy across the UK, Europe, Americas, APAC, and MEA regions, coordinating pro bono legal work, volunteer engagement, and partnerships that expand access to justice and strengthen community impact. With a background in Law, Politics, and Political Theory, Annabelle brings a critical and inclusive approach to advancing social justice both within and beyond the legal profession. Her past work includes leading award-winning initiatives with HSBC and supporting organisations like Big Brother Watch and the Institute of Race Relations. As a public speaker and digital educator, Annabelle has built a platform of over 250,000 followers and 7.1 million+ likes, using her voice to empower others and drive change on issues ranging from human rights and anti-racism to gender justice and equality.
