You can apply to be a Campus Ambassador or to create a Mini Hub. What is the difference?

Campus Ambassador (Over 18 years old)

Campus Ambassadors are dynamic leaders who play a crucial role in advancing the cause of girls' human rights. They serve as representatives of the Girls Human Rights Hub, organising events, workshops, and campaigns to raise awareness, promote gender equality, and advocate for policy changes to address barriers facing girls.

Requirements

  • Age over 18 years old.

  • Ambassadors must be enrolled in a university, or be either in their first year or penultimate year as of September 2024.

  • Enthusiasm and passion for promoting girls' human rights and gender equality.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to organise and coordinate events effectively.

  • Commitment to actively participate in Ambassador activities.

The ambassadorship duration is for one year (commencing in April 2024 to April 2025). Campus Ambassadors are expected to organise a minimum of three events per year and attend one monthly meeting with the GHRH team. On average, this commitment amounts to approximately 10 hours per month. Campus Ambassadors will have the opportunity to be invited to exclusive networking events, workshops, and training sessions hosted by the Girls Human Rights Hub, providing valuable opportunities for personal and professional development.

In October 2024, we will acknowledge the exceptional efforts of Campus Ambassadors at the GHRH Girls Human Rights Awards, where the best ambassador of the year will be honoured.

We encourage applications from individuals worldwide. All applications will undergo a thorough review process. Deadline to apply is 1 April 2024. You will be notified if you have become an ambassador on 15 April 2024. You will receive an onboarding and training session in end of April, where we will share the resources, handbooks and guidelines to assist you during your year as a GHRH Campus Ambassador. Your ambassadorship will last until April 2025.

Create a Mini Hub (under 18 years old)

Mini hubs are dedicated spaces within schools where individuals come together to advocate for girls' rights and promote gender equality. By creating a mini hub, you become part of a global movement striving to empower girls and create positive change in society.

Requirements

  • Must be affiliated with a school or educational institution.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to promoting girls' rights and gender equality.

  • Obtain support from teachers or school administrators to initiate and sustain the Mini Hub.

  • Adhere to the guidelines and principles outlined by the Girls Human Rights Hub in promoting girls' rights and gender equality.

To create a Mini Hub, individuals under 18 years old should first reach out to a teacher or member of their school staff to express their interest in starting the initiative. The teacher will serve as the point of contact and mentor throughout the process. Once the intention to establish a Mini Hub is communicated, the teacher can assist in coordinating with school authorities and obtaining any necessary approvals or permissions. Together, you can identify a dedicated space within the school where the Mini Hub activities will take place. Once the logistics are arranged, the student and teacher can work together to plan and organize events, workshops, and campaigns aimed at promoting girls' rights and gender equality within the school community. Regular meetings and collaboration between the student and teacher will ensure the successful establishment and operation of the Mini Hub.

We encourage applications from individuals and educational institutions worldwide. All applications will undergo a thorough review process. The application form for creating Mini Hubs will remain open indefinitely, and the initiative will continue until either party decides to conclude it.
